Utility Series

With the right eye, it is possible to see Brisbane as a collection of repeating patterns. Peoples noticed on a macro level each building has its own unique configuration of windows, eves and architectural features. And on a micro level every street and laneway were littered with utility covers, each with their own bespoke forms. The Utility Series captures these dual perspectives. The copper and brass pendants have been shaped in the form of utility covers. The copper pendants have either been impressed with a utility form or have been etched with a building configuration. All have been designed to develop a patina overtime to further connect the piece to the original utility cover inspiration.
